OSBORNE PARKS
The City of Osborne has four beautiful parks for everyone to enjoy.

HARDMAN PARK
This park is located on the west side of U.S. Highway 281, on the north end of Osborne. It is home to the Osborne swimming pool and sand volleyball courts. On the east edge of the park is a monument honoring all World War I, World War II, and Korean War veterans. The park also contains playground equipment and covered picnic tables, as well as, a large open grassy area for the kids to play

DOWNTOWN MINI-PARK
This park is located in downtown Osborne at the intersection of Main and 2nd Streets. It is a small park with a couple of nice shade trees, picnic table, and an array of beautiful flowers. It is a great place to eat lunch, read a book, or just enjoy the outdoors.

CITY PARK
The Osborne City Park is located just south of the Osborne City library on West Main Street. In the middle of the park there is a shelter house complete with picnic tables. Some people stop and enjoy the gazebo in the northwest corner of the park. This park also has basketball courts as well as tennis courts. Playground equipment is located in the southeast corner of the park. The small hills in the southwest part of the park provide a great place for kids to sled in the winter.

ROADSIDE PARK
This park is located on the north edge of Osborne east of the U.S. 24 & 281 Highways intersection. It has an abundance of shade trees and picnic tables. Also, located in the park is a replica of the Geodetic Center of North America Marker, complete with a historical sign which tells all about it.
SHADY BEND GOLF COURSE

Built along the south fork of the Solomon River, Shady Bend Golf Course was completed and opened for play in the fall of 1991. The course is a 9-hole, Bent grass greens facility with watered fairways. Its name truly reflects the course as most of the fairways are tree-lined. The course also has a driving range and practice green.

OSBORNE COUNTRY CLUB
The Osborne Country Club golf course is located one mile north of Osborne “on the hill” on the west side of U.S. Highway 281. It is a 9-hole golf course that is somewhat unique in the fact that it has sand greens. It also has buffalo grass fairways. The course is open to the public.

SANDERS BASEBALL COMPLEX

Located on the west edge of Osborne sits the Sanders Baseball Complex. The complex was completed in 2001 and has been home to Osborne baseball and softball ever since. The complex has four fields and used by various teams throughout the summer. In the center of the complex is found a maintenance building complete with restrooms, a concession stand, and a press box that overlooks all four fields. A picnic area is located immediately west of the center building. In the south alley is a memorial planter complete with the names of the donors for the complex.
The largest field in the northwest part of the complex is home to American Legion Post 49’s baseball team. The northeast field houses the K-18 baseball team and adult softball teams. The two small fields in the south part of the complex are busy with all the girls’ softball teams, T-ball teams, and Midget (coach pitch) baseball. Every three to four years, Osborne is host to the State PeeWee Baseball Tournament.

OSBORNE SWIMMING POOL

The Osborne swimming pool, located in Hardman Park, is open from Memorial Day weekend thru mid-August. Besides the big pool, there is also a wading pool available for small children. A sun deck is available above the pool house. Concessions are available.

SHOOTING RANGE
Located near the south fork of the Solomon River, northwest of the Scout Cabin is the Osborne Shooting Range. Built in 1999, and operated by the Osborne Gun Club, the shooting range offers a variety of shooting opportunities.
–25 yard pistol range with 12 foot shooting table
–50, 100, 200 yard rifle range with five total single bench shooting tables
–Skeet range with a high and low house
–Automatic blue rock thrower
–Archery tower with 10, 20, 30, and 40 yard targets

SHADY BEND HIKING AND BIKING TOURS

These guided tours feature a little bit of Osborne history as well as the breathtaking scenery of the Blue Hills. The three miles of winding trails along the South Fork of the Solomon River offer two skill levels: Easy and Advanced. Anyone can participate! Bring the whole family or make it a date for two.
