Free Lot Application

The City of Osborne is excited to offer no cost residential housing lots in the Sunset Addition, north of Main Street. To be eligible for these lots, you must fill out this application for review by the City of Osborne. Once the application is completed and returned, the applicant will be required to meet with the City to form an agreement.  Once the agreement is signed, construction may begin within the timeframe designated in the agreement.

Residential requirements for free land opportunity:

1) Free lots available to those families willing to build a new home within 24 months.

            a) Must sign with a contractor within 6 months of application approval.

            b) Construction must be completed with in 12 months of application approval.

            c) Complete occupancy within 24 months.

2) Homes constructed on free land must not carry personal property titles (mobile home).

3) Homes must be constructed with a foundation that has a crawl space or basement.

4) Special Assessments may apply depending on the location of the lot.

5) Construction of the home shall meet all City zoning and Uniform Building Codes

     requirements.

6) Applicant will be responsible for all Title Insurance required.

7) Other provisions made by the City of Osborne may apply

* Please note that the Sunset Addition map is platted only.  Sunset Addition does not have 9^th or 10^th Street access at this time, however there is immediate access to Main Street and 11^th Street.  It should also be noted that the sewer line is not deep enough for a basement drain.
