Electricity: 

Mid Kansas Electric Company (MKEC) supplies a 345 KV power line into the city. The City owns and operates a plant to shave peak for cost savings. The City's power plant provides emergency back-up and self-sustaning power the entire City during outages. Current rates for residential: First 100 KWH @ $.15/KWH, next 400 KWH @ $.081/KWH, everything over 500 KWH @$.073/KWH. Min. bill $15.00.Current rates for businesses: First 150 KWH @ $.195/KWH, next 1050 KWH @ $.098/KWH, everything over 1200 KWH @ $.092/KWH. Min. bill $29.25.  Power rates are as follows: first 1000 KWH @ $.14/KWH, next 4000 KWH @ $.075/KWH, all over 5000 KWH @ $.055/KWH.  Min. bill $140.00.  Fuel adjustments are applied to all users.  For more information please call 785-346-5611 to speak with Sharlene Ubelaker, City Clerk.

                  
Gas: 

Kansas Gas Service takes gas off the Williams system carried at a pressure of 350 lbs. KGS takes gas into town at 100lbs. and regulates that to 90lbs. through a 4in.distribution main. The local contact, Mark Roadhouse can be reached at 785-545-5510. Kansas Gas Service

Water/Sewer:

Both are supplied and owned by the City. The water supply is operated through ground water wells. The first 400 cu. ft. is $14.00. Every 100 cu. ft after is $1.70. Please contact the City Office for more information at 785.346.5611.
